The Detective Training Program offers a comprehensive range of basic and advanced level training across the spectrum of policing topics.
In April of 1998, a Detective
Training School was established at the Police Academy. This school which in its
embryonic stage is being managed by Supt. Quinn McCartney .
The program includes:
The emphasis of the training is focused on basic policing skills with great attention being directed toward police ethics and customer care. During the training, extensive use is made of case studies and interactive exercises. The facilitators make use of computerized graphics, view foils, video foils, videos and 35mm slides. Students’ handout are provided and courses are validated by the Commissioner of Police.
