C A R M I C H A E L D I V I S I O N

As we enter into the 21^st century, the phrase “Customer Satisfaction” is the mandate and the mind-set that will propel Carmichael Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force forward into this millennium. These words hold special significance as we have embarked upon strategic planning, a vehicle through which our Division will undergo necessary change to combat and eradicate crime. To accomplish this task, our mission is to maximize the full potential of the “Devolution Policy”, adopt proactive approaches to reduce crime and violence in our community; implement the full utilization of all resources and to employ ingenuity and modern techniques in the apprehension of criminal elements to achieve a more effective response time. Further, the officers and staff of the Carmichael Division will be impartial, helpful, responsible, tactful, professional, patient, courteous, loyal, courageous, compassionate, efficient, full of integrity, having a zero tolerance attitude to corruption and vigorously oppose and resist any such act: thus building and deepening cooperation, goodwill and partnership with all sectors of the community.

Through intelligence – led policing, team – work and close – camaraderie, all laws laid down by the constitution will be enforced to ensure that the Carmichael Community remains safe, secure and unrestricted. We are in the process of bringing the following programs on stream:

Neighbourhood Watch programs for all sub divisions.
Community Policing.
Kids Summer Programme.

It should be noted that the Carmichael Division is vast and caters to more than 20 sub-division with more on the way. It is the fastest growing division on the Island of New Providence.

A police corporal or senior police officer who is experienced in all matters of law mans the desk at Carmichael Road Police Station.

· Neighbourhood Watch program.
W/Inspector Albury heads the Carmichael Road Division's, Neighbourhood watch program. It is hoped that in a short time, every sub-division in the boundaries of this division would have created an effective crime watch program.

· Community Relations re-launched.
As part of the 165th Anniversary celebrations, the Carmichael Road Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, has re-launched their Community Policing program. The unit will be commanded by WCpl. 1642 Yvonne Albury...
