Anti Drug Secretariat (NADS)

To coordinate the various drug strategies, efforts and
initiatives in the country.
(Supply, Demand,
Controls, Evaluation, etc.)

Responsible for the development, management and
operation of the Plan.

Responsible for evaluation the effectiveness of the
Plan
v
To develop, operate and maintain the National Drug
Observatory – the statistical arm of NADS.
v
To coordinate the completion of Drug Questionnaires.
v
To produce the National Annual Report on Drugs
v
To access international donors for project support
(and institutional building)
NADS is collaborate effort of the following
agencies:
Heads of
National Law Enforcement Agencies (HONLEA)
Ø
Will bring together Heads of the Police Force, Defence
Force, Prisons, Customs, Immigration and Port Departments in regular
and formal dialogue on matters related to drug control, to share
information and strategies and to coordinate joint activities.
Ø
Heads have not met in regular sessions.
Ø
Cooperation and coordination of resources and effort
minimized.
Joint
Intelligence Bureau (JIB)
Ø
Intelligence analysts appointed by the HONLEA to sit
in a joint intelligence centre and exchange relevant intelligence to
enable the HONLEA to mount joint operations in fighting criminal
activities.
